This formal portrait of Frank M.
Kenney was taken by the Jeffers Studio
of Olympia. Kenney began working at

the Olympia Brewing Company as a
    bookkeeper in 1901. He quickly

became a trusted employee and friend
of the Schmidt family, and in fact
created the slogan “It’s the Water.”

Kenney worked for the Schmidts for
the rest of his life, serving as an officer
in many of their business enterprises.

He was also highly involved in many
civic activities, including Boy and Girl
Scouts, VFW, Elks, and Rotary Club,
and was a member of the Olympia City

                  Council.
