Mist from the lower falls on the
Deschutes River was frozen into huge
ice crystals during a cold snap in an
unknown year (probably in the 1970s).
The structure in the background is the
foundation of the powerhouse built for
Olympia Light and Power in 1905.
Today the foundation serves as a
popular viewing platform at the lower
falls.
