1. A student must have an average grade of at least 85% on the seven (7) major and
professional courses offered in the first year and second year levels in order to be
retained and be eligible to take the battery exam. Students who do not meet the required
average grade will be advised to shift or transfer to other school.
2. The battery exam will consist of multiple-choice questions where the number of items
shall be determined by the Screening Committee.
3. A minimal fee from the students shall be paid for the preparation and administration of
the battery exam.
4. The screening system will be as follows:
Battery Exam Score - 35%
General Weighted Average - 50%
Oral revalida - 15%
E. Level III and Level IV students should have at least a grade of 83 in all major and professional
nursing courses.
II. ELIMINATION AND DISMISSAL
A. A student will never be eligible for readmission if he/she fails the same course twice. He/She
shall be advised to take another course
B. BSN students are given a maximum of five years to complete their undergraduate
coursework. This includes possible leave of absence.
III. LEAVE OF ABSENCE
A student who decides to withdraw from a class or all his classes due to a prolonged absence
with a valid cause must file an application for leave of absence. This should be done on or before
the Official Dropping Period in order to get an honorable dismissal.
IV. SHIFTING TO ANOTHER COURSE/COLLEGE
Any student who may decide to shift/transfer to another program in the University or to another
school shall be advised to seek clearance from the college.
Article IV
ACADEMIC POLICIES
I. ACADEMIC YEAR
The academic year is divided into two (2) semesters covering a duration of eighteen (18) weeks
each, inclusive of midterm and final examinations periods. All academic units are offered on a
semestral basis.
A. LECTURE CLASSES
The University’s grading system as per VPAA 5105-MEMO-2023-04-02 is as follows:
