THE UNIQUENESS OF THE PRODUCT
Before outbreak of Covid -19 agriculture learners at Etosha SSS, use to make their garden in the
school premises where they planted vegetable like spinach, tomato and green beans they used to
take care of the crop until the harvesting time. The learners were required to visit the garden
twice a week during the selected lessons by the teacher to take record of anything happening in
the growth stage of the plant. Through monitoring leaner were able to check if crops are attacked
by disease, weeds and pests. During harvesting they would sell to the produce to teachers in the
school. This taught them on how to handle and manage money which motivated them to make
backyard garden in their homes and start thinking of becoming farmers. On Entrepreneurship
day, learner would set up stalls in the school premises and invite members of the town including
their parents and learners to support them in their activity. By hosting the day learners gained
management and leadership skills on how to run a business.
Due to Covid -19 regulation of reduction in mass gathering, learner could not get the opportunity
to learn the practical activity objectives due to the pandemic. Currently the existing solution was
online learning which did not bring all the satisfaction of the learners in their activities. Many
activities were omitted, hosting of entrepreneurship day and gardening.
