LEARNING FROM THE PROJECT
Questionnaire method was used in order to ensure that the question provide detailed information
on the effects of Covid -19 to the learner’s practical’s activities doing agriculture and
entrepreneurship in grade 8-9 at the school through syllabus of the education sector in Namibia.
The information obtained were as follow: the ratio of learner to teacher is high, one teacher to
48 learners difficult to control during the Covid-19. the school has to come up with the initiative
of splitting the learners in group of two where they have to go in shifts of days, some could only
go twice are week. Teachers created online classes where they shared video on how practical
activities could be carried out in real life. Teacher arranged for afternoon classes to try to cover
up the syllabus. Teacher incorporated their teaching through E-learning. Based on data collected
learners doing agriculture in grade: 8-9 only 75% of learners had access to internet, computers
and smart phones while 25% of them did not have access. While entrepreurship showed that 78%
of learners in grade: 8-9 had access to internet, computer and smart phones. While 22% do not
have access. Teacher initiated real-time lessons on virtual meeting plat forms, Online support
services for parents and learner and Self-paced formalized lessons.
Teachers used a variety of resources to support learners learning while they were unable to come
to school, including instructional packages (textbooks, worksheets and printouts). Online
learning tools ranged from educational content which learner could explore at their own
discretion and formalized learning programmers conducted at their own pace, to real-time
lessons led by their teachers using virtual meeting platform. These measures were conducted by
the school with active involvement from teachers, principal and parents.
