DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

The balance of the years was spent in various Quality and Continuous Improvement Leadership roles. The reality is
that I have always used Quality and CI principles and methodologies in every position, as these prove time and time
again to yield the best results, hands down!

In my short time with Loram, I have been busy learning and assessing the systems that we have in place and
listening to the feedback and insights from our team members across all functions.
One key area that you can expect to see some additional focus and improvements in right away involves
how we test our machines and ensure that they are ready to be released from Hamel. I am leading a project called
SC02 – Product Quality & Reliability Improvements that is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year. The
objective of this project is to improve the method by which we test, commission, and manage early-hour reliability
failures, including OEM and supplier warranty management. The effort is focused on releasing well-tested, verified,
and validated machines utilizing IFS System Tools.

This project is already underway, beginning with a full review of all existing procedures related to test devel-
opment and execution. In this step, we are closely examining all of our current procedures and identifying the op-
portunities for improvement. We will conclude this phase by ensuring that all processes are documented, con-
trolled, understood, and adhered to by all appropriate team members. Target completion date for this step is Au-
           gust 31.
Another step that is already underway is to build out the details of our testing plans in IFS and incorporate
this into shop orders to ensure proper resource planning and execution. The framework should be complete in
June and will allow us to add the supporting details as we better define our test plans.
Beginning in June and wrapping up in September we will work with a cross-functional team to better define
the commissioning process for fleet machines. This will include clear definition of roles and responsibilities through-
out the commissioning process to avoid any confusion or false assumptions as to who should be doing what.
Finally, as all quality begins with hearing the voice of the customer, we are establishing a mechanism to har-
vest fleet and OEM warranty feedback that we can utilize to improve our quality here at Hamel.

I appreciate the opportunity to join this amazing team on our journey toward excellence and look forward
to the progress that lies ahead.
