My Emerald Isle

We celebrate Christmas as many other countries

do, but for us it’s a time to reflect on family and

loved ones. It’s a time to remember that the
reason for the season is that Jesus Christ came

into the world to save us. The islanders also use

this time to have our yearly carnival celebrations

which features groups such as local calypso

bands, queen shows, street parades and

masqueraders in their numbers galore — full
colors and revelry on the road.
