TAC. His dedication to the Council and sterling contribution through the years assisted CXC
in building a foundation of credibility. In addition, FAC also recognized Dr Broomes’ many
years of service to the University of the West Indies and education in the Region.

8. On the personal sphere FAC heard various speakers also recalled Dr Broomes’
humility, his penchant for passionate debates without bearing ill-will. Dr Broomes was also
extolled for his lifelong demonstration of the principle of continuous learning.
