difficulties which I have experienced from the opposition of my'
younger brother Abdulla, for which reason there may have been de­
lay in cerrying out some of the improvements wo both desire,but
I an sure you are satisfied with me. You heard what my brother
said yesterday in the presence of my honoured Father, that in
future he would not oppose me, and I sincerely hope he will keep
his word,which will be patent from results.
Nevertheless I think it incumbent on me as a precaution for the
future , to explain to you the situation so that I may be free
from blame if ho (Audulla) does not keep 1:1s word. I beg you to
convey this privately to our coniuon friend Colonel Trevor in
order that he may have the information.
