                    have been a serious nisbep to the aircraft in vhich ho ms boing

                    and was forced to land at Jlwani with the wheels up.     C'.Ting to
                    tho amasing skill of tho British Overseas Airways Corporation
                   pilot not only go one injured bit the twenty throe passengers

                    were scarcely oven sliaksn.
                    (ill) On tho 10th of -April the shaikh of Sharjah wont to
                   India for nedlcal treatment.    His cure was somewhat delayed
                   owing to     speticeoia following on tho amateur efforts of his

                   son Khalid to give tho Shaikh tho course of injections proscribed
                   by his physician.    Af tar paying a visit to Delhi the Shaikh
                   returned to Sharjeh on the 12th of September.
                   (lv) shaikh ganad bin 3a* id tho miner Shaikh of Kalba was with

                   great difficulty induced tc/ ccqc to Bahrain to be educated
                   und'ir tho supervision of Sir. p.j. *rkelin the Director of Edu­
                   cation. After son* preliminary difficulties the young u&a

                   settled dotn satisfactorily in ono of tho prkeary schoolsf being
                   lodged in the school hostel. On the completion of the school
                   year on the 30th of June he returned to Kalba for the holidays

                   apparently very willing to return on the re-opening of the
                   schools In September. Unfortunately the return to freodca and
                  tho influence of his cousin shaikh ihzaaid bin Abdullah undid all
