(I) A snail raiding party of the Awaciir attacked Hira in
tho middlo of August and killed ono said bin Abdullah bin Rashid
and kidnapped Ms snail boy. Tho boy*s mothor being from the
Doni Qitab tribo that tribe insisted on tho Av/omir. returning
him to his rolativo3. It is of Interest to note that tho
raider3 were tho guests of tho Shaikh of Sharjah on tho night
on ^hich the raid cccurrod.
(ii) During tho same month owing to a disagreement between
tho Kanasir and the Beni Qitab thoro was every prospect of a
serious tribal war breaking out between th3 Boni Qitab and
tho Shaikh of Abu Dhabi but tho mediation of tho Chiefs of
tho H»ain and the Al BuShaml tribc3 and tho wiso advice given
by Shaikh I!ohamcd bin /ill bin ITuwaidin tho paramount Shaikh of
the Beni Qitab resulted in pcuco being maintained.
