                                                        TRANSLATION.
                                   Tho object of writing this paper is this—that I, Esa-bin Ali AT Khalifah,
                               say that I havo permitted and authorized Abdur Bahman-bin-Abdul Wahab
                               to import guns iulo Bahrein, the sale should bo in his hands and no ono else
                               is permitted to import guus into Bahrain at all. If, however, anyone should
                               import guns, he will bo liable to punishment. Ho should givo mo an account
                               of this arrangomont—30 guns Martini with 200 cartridges with oaoh gun evory
                               year. Ho 6hould also givo customs duty 3 guns in every hundred with 200
                               cartridges with each gun. Ho should not sell guus to the pooplo of Bahrein,
                               Katr and the Arab Coast, except tho Oman Coast whero ho can sell them. If
                               any ono is in need of soiling a gun, which is his own property, he is at liborty
                               to do so. This arrangement is to last during his lifetime; and it is agreed to
                               so long as he deems it bofittiug his position in tho matter and it continues
                               without any chango. Let this be not hidden. Written in tho month of Sailor
                               1313.
