boliovod that Agba Moliamcd llahim was instituting a formal
suit also at tho same tinio in the British Courts, but it now
appoars that ho wishes, in tho first instance, to see how tho
Busroh caso is disposed of, and no formal suit as regards tho other
property has been registered. If it is, you will bo duly
informed.
(c) As regards your complaints against Mr. Gaskin, Colouol Mcado s
opiuion, which I road out to you, was as follows: —
“I havo carofully considered tho allegations brought against Mr. .T. C.
Gaskin, Vico-Cousul at Bushiro, aud am of opiuion that ho has
not failed in his duty. Tho charge that he accepted bribes
from tho Malik-ut*Tujar is not supported by cvidcnco, and is
positively donied by Mr. Gaskin, whoso doninl is accepted.”
I am to add that your letter containing the allegations against Mr. Gaskin,
with all tho.enclosures aud other papers bearing on the caso, were submitted
by Colonel Meade to the Government of India, who have endorsed Colonel
Mcado’s opinion.
