Having noticed In the Confidential Print (Section
24 of October 29) Mr Brant's Memorandum on the Agreement of
August 30, 1832 regarding Bahrein quoted by the Grand Vizier in his
note to Mr Grant Duff of September 13 last In support of

the Persian claims to the sovereignty of that island, I thought
it as well to remind His Highness that the Treaty in question
had been expressly disavowed by us and with this purpose I
have today addressed to His Highness the note copy of
which I have the honour to enclose.
