Rawar.. A quarantine station was es
tablished there, but the disease made its appearance in Kerman, on November
21st. Fortunately it was of a very mild type and the severity'of the weather
checked its dissemination. The local authorities took primitive measures
to prevent the spread of the disease and valuable services were tendered by
Drs. Dodson and Westlake of the Church Missionary Society and by Assist
ant Surgeon Salt. The disease disappeared towards the end of December,
by. which time 1C5 cases and 50 deaths had occurred. The outbreak caused a
fairly general exodus from Kerman, but the people returned to the town at
the end of December.
