The despatch (BA 1016/2) by Sir George Middleton
about Bahrain sooms to me to raise pretty serious
problems. No doubt your Department will bo preparing
their thoughts about what ought to bo done, I think
that after the holidays wo ought to have a good talk
about it in some group or other - perhaps you and me and

some of the exports. It might be useful for Sir Norman
Brook to be in on it.
