SCRATCH (Southampton City and Region Action to Combat Hardship) was formed on 1 October 1999, to manage the
social action projects initiated by the founding charity Southampton City Mission.
The memorandum and articles of the company state its purpose as: -
The relief of the effects of poverty for individuals and families in the city of Southampton and Central Southern Hampshire.
It is our intention, through various social initiatives, to respond to identified practical needs, providing relief for people
regardless of age, status or background.
Our mission statement is: -
To relieve the effects of poverty for families and individuals with needs recognised by approved referral agencies in
Southampton and the surrounding area and to support likeminded organisations.
