13.4 Gerunds or Infinitives after Verbs
Some verbs are followed by infinitives, some are followed by gerunds, and some are followed by
gerunds or infinitives with no difference in meaning.
Verb Example
1. verb + gerund avoid, consider, enjoy, finish, Many students avoid taking English

2. verb + infinitive agree, ask, decide, hope, need, Because citizen input is important, many
