Every trails that ends with a sunset will also lead to a new sunrise.

                                                             Trail’s end

                                                   Up before daybreak,
                                                That comes as no surprise.
The scent of sagebrush in the air

Fore the mountain greets your eyes.

                                            We'd start our journey northward

With a nod and a quick so long.
Just an old time faded cowboy

                                                 Moving cattle with a song.

We'd ride through dust and summer rain

                                             And drift through winters wind.
                                                  Easy miles to measure

When your trail's about to end.

Some long to see their Texas

                                              Where the longhorn cattle play.
                                             When their work here's finished
It's where their hearts will stay.

Just find me a spot on the prairie

With a coyote, wolf or bear.
When it's time to hang my spurs up

You'll find my soul out there.
