Membership Strategy for the year

An exclusive, well-planned membership strategy was implemented throughout the year. In terms of

recruitment, club orientation programmes were held for incoming batches of all the faculties. New

students were given an understanding about what Rotaract truly is, what sort of projects are

implemented by the club, the impact of these projects on the community and what is awaiting the

                                              students who join Rotaract.

Before introducing the prospective members to the avenue based projects, fellowship activities were

carried out with them. This enabled them to get to know students from other faculties as well as their

own batch mates. Since the University of Peradeniya holds a diversified membership from all over

the country, this method of interacting students precisely brought out the essence of Rotaract which

                                              is connecting people.

Grandeeza which was the first ever Awards Ceremony of the club showed our immense appreciation

and the respect towards our hard working members and it granted them a recognition for their

dedication, interest and commitment for club projects. The Mini Project Mania brought by the

Membership Development Team created the opportunity for members to express their ideas, plan a

project and carry out the project with his/her own organizing committee. Further, Rotaractors of the

month were selected to acknowledge their efforts and to motivate them to keep up their work. Even

our minor gestures such as birthday posts attracted a lot of attention from our prospective

                                              members.

                                              Induction Process

A prospective member must first attend our weekly meetings and get to know the general members

and get an idea about the ongoing projects. They are encouraged to attend the ongoing projects as

participants during this period. The membership team which consists of the Vice President of

Membership and Directors of Membership Development and HR monitor these members. The active

members get the opportunity to join organizing committees and work on projects. Then they will be

inducted and added to the RMIS portal.

                                              Termination Process

Membership will be terminated once a member has graduated from the university.
