Council
A resident council is an independent, organized group of people living in a long -term care facility that meets on a regular
t
basis o discuss concerns, develop suggestions on improving services or resolve differences in their home.
Ombudsmen participate in resident council activities with the permission of the resident. With resident permission,
ombudsmen can attend resident council meetings and assist the residents with their resident council.
During your training you will shadow a Resident Council activity. While shadowing that activity, complete the Trainee Journal
for Resident Council.
