NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ADOLESCENT PEER EDUCATORS




   On  10  October  2020,  a  National  Conference  of  Adolescent  Peer  Educators  for  Positive  Mental
   Health and  Well  Being  was  organised  to  celebrate  the  World  Mental  Health  Day,  on  a  virtual

   platform  by Expressions  India.  It  was  a  brainstorming  and  interactive  discussion  with  children.
   The  conference  was  headed  by  Dr.  Jitender  Nagpal,  Program  Director,  Expressions
   India  and  his  team members.Mr.  Joseph  Emmanuel,  Director  CBSE  conducted the first  session
   which  was  attended  by  the  students  of  Class  IX  and  X.  He  began  the  session  by  wishing
   everybody  on  the  World  Mental Health Day and addressed all present as Well-Being ambassadors.
   Taking his discussion further about COVID 19 and its impact on all of us, he discussed how we all
   have tried to adapt to this situation and learn a new skill set. Adapting to these times is a by-product
   of our mental health. ‘How we feel is how we live'. If our mental health is good, we learn to adapt

   to changes, we can make good decisions and work towards our well-being as well as of others.

   The  second  session  was  attended  by  students  of  Class  XI.  Mr  Priyank  Kanoonga,  Chairperson
   of National  Commission  for  Protection  of  Child  Rights  (NCPCR)  graced  the  occasion  as  a
   Chief  Guest.  The  Guest  of  Honour  was  Dr  Zoya,  Assistant  Commissioner  of  the  Ministry  of
   Health.  Mr. Priyank  Kanoonga  did  a  ‘Man  ki  Baat’  session  where  he emphasised  on  the  New
   Education  policy  and  its  aim  to  lessen  the  stress  on  students  and  promote  peer  education.  He

   enlightened  the  students  on  how  they  can  help  their  friends  during  COVID-19  by  not
   making  them  feel  lonely.  He motivated  the  students  and  said  “Love  yourself,  Be  who  you  are,
   Don’t change yourself for anyone, You all are Unique and beautiful just the way you are”.
