NUMBERS RULE THE UNIVERSE
To develop mathematical aptitude in students, the Department of Mathematics attempts learning
and encourages practical application of theoretical knowledge. Inculcating creativity and initiative is
possible if students are perceived as participants in learning, not as receivers of a fixed body of
knowledge. Mathematics is a complex subject which is taught by employing a variety of
methodologies like virtual class activities, use of PowerPoint presentations, integrating art with
mathematics, playing mathematical games and quizzes, screening online tutorials, Olab
activities and Portfolio Activity. Students are given examples from real life which makes
teaching-learning interactive and engaging.
