COMMERCE BEYOND BOOKS: ENRICHING, EMPIRICAL AND FUN

Alfred Mercier once remarked that, “What we learn by pleasure, we never forget."

When it comes to learning with pleasure, the commerce department of Mata Jai Kaur Public
School never fails to deliver. Keeping in mind the same, the department organized an array of
creative activities and projects to enhance the creative as well as technical aspects of students
learning. These lively, creative and challenging learning techniques encouraged students to put on
their thinking hats.

The plethora of activities included caricature and cartoon designing relating to various economic
aspects and challenges that the economy faces as a whole. This also included making

mindboggling crossword puzzles which challenged the students and helped develop intuitive
thought. Similarly, a "drive towards healthy food" campaign which was initiated by the commerce
section helped students to understand the need and importance of healthy food in one's life.
Activities with integration of various subjects helped students to understand the new and inventive
way of learning, adding to their overall development.

Finally, the participating students were appreciated and acknowledged for their efforts by their
peers and teachers which motivated them to take on further projects of knowledge with enthusiasm.
The commerce department believes in imparting holistic education to it’s students. These
initiatives enabled students to understand beyond the books, which will play a crucial role when

the students set their foot outside the boundaries into the real world with utmost confidence and
intelligence.
