THERE ARE TWO EDUCATIONS -ONE TEACHES US HOW TO
MAKE A LIVING AND THE OTHER HOW TO LIVE
The school’s Life skills programme aims at helping students to develop necessary life skills
intended for mental, emotional and psycho-social well-being. Through story telling sessions,
PowerPoint presentations, videos, short films and their appreciation followed by discussions
and connecting learnings to our daily life the Life skills Sessions are conducted regularly. From
compassion for one’s own self to the others around, from showing gratitude to understanding that
we rise by lifting others, from working on our thoughts which affects our feelings and action to
changing our perspective, all this has been the core of these classes that pushes the young minds to
learn and to grow collectively as a community. The students learn to take responsibility of the
choices they make and learn to regulate themselves. They learn tricks to improve themselves in
all areas and be a better version of their own selves. These sessions have also allowed them to
think with an open mind, embrace flexibility in thought, feelings and actions they undertake.
The student-centered approach is designed to meet the individual needs and create an
engaging learning environment through differentiated instruction. The awareness and
acceptance of the diversity allows one to be flexible not only in lesson planning and lesson delivery
but also in methods of assessment. The modifications and adaptations allow students to show
progress, however small it may be. Working collaboratively with the teachers, parents and the
students allows all to make concerted efforts to ensure improvement.
