The space ship was prepared carefully, and in the

light of Andalap's three moons, the little party blasted off.

As she was taught, Twinkle hid her fears quite well.

Besides, there was a dazzling array of planets and stars to

see from the window. Her parents were pretty well

terrified, having made this scary trip only one other time,

on the way to Andalap.

"Deep breathing, everyone," called Gallina from the

controls. Soothing music soon filled the space capsule

and the passengers went to sleep focused on their breath,

in, out, in, out.

This was as far as Polly got in her conversation with

Sarah on the airplane to Vancouver. The whole family

was quiet as they took in this information. Mirabel was

starting to see why Twinkle was so outwardly calm and

courageous. She was hiding her fear. All those times in
the hot air balloon, the strange lady on the broom ---

"Wait a minute! Was that Gallina helping us on our trip
in the balloon, and then on the airplane to Alaska?" asked

Mirabel.

"We knew that she was protecting you all along, but

did not know the Andalap part of the story.
