Actually, Gramma and Grampa were quite surprised that
we let you go on that trip."
"Well so were we." said Nana.
"Well so was I!" said Mirabel. "But strangely enough, I
was never scared when the green-eyed lady or the magic
birds and feathers were with us. But she was there the
whole time, in different shapes, I guess."
Just then, a deer walked into the garden while they
were all looking out the dining room window.
"Has anyone ever seen a green-eyed deer before?"
asked Opa? "It's not eating our lettuce. Just looking in the
window at us."
Mirabel just knew who it was and went out carefully
and quietly to say hello and thanks.
"Thank you for all your help, and for the fun of the
great adventure. It all feels a bit like a dream."
The deer winked one of its green eyes at Mirabel, who
looked back at her family. When she turned around, the
deer was gone.
