(Annex S1-1-3-7). It is also possible to measure students’ satisfaction with the skills they have
acquired and take into account students’ opinions to develop the program through a program
evaluation questionnaire (Annex S1-1-3-8). Finally, the supportive academic environment helped
faculty members to increase scientific publishing, and the number of published research reached
about 79 from 2019 to 2023 (Annex S1-1-3-9).
1-1-4 The program management monitors the achievement of its goals through specific
performance indicators and actions are taken for improvement.
In this item of the program management criterion, the program management developed a follow-
up plan to ensure the achievement of the program's goals, through many performance indicators
for all the standards of the program accreditation as shown in the main performance key
indicators report (Annex S1-1-4-1), which was approved by the Mechanical Engineering
Department council No. 3 on 05/03/1444 (Annex 1-1-4-2), Also improvement factors for many
elements of the program as shown in the program improvement plan (Annex S1-1-4-3). KPIs are
used for assessing the quality of Mechanical engineering program and developing evidence to
support that a given standard or sub-standard is met (or not). They also lead to continuous
decision-making support and improvement processes.
According to the approve KPIs from the deanship of academic development at programs level. The
Mechanical engineering program adopts 22 key performance indicators. The approved KPIs
includes 17 KPIs adopted from the program KPIs of the National Center for Academic Accreditation
and Evaluation (NCAAA) and an additional 5 KPIs from Al-Baha University KPIs. The standards
adopted by the Mechanical engineering program, distributions, and numbers of the corresponding
KPIs are depicted in Table 1. (Annex S1-1-4-1, Report of KPIs 2023, Page No. 1-5).
The program management monitors its commitment to implement its role in the research plan of
the institution through specific performance indicators. This criterion was met as it is according to
performance indicator (KPIs Program Code KPI-P-14, KPI-P-15 and KPI-P-16) which talked about
percentage of publications, rate of published research per faculty member and citations rate in
