1-1-3 The program provides an organizational climate and a supportive academic environment.
The Mechanical program is controlled by specialized councils (Faculty council, Department council)
that have specific responsibilities and powers. The program management is dedicated to creating
an organizational atmosphere and a supportive academic environment, as well as growing and
strengthening the professional skills and capacities of the technical and administrative support
personnel to stay up with current advances.
Academic development is the best way to reach the goals set by the university following its vision
and mission, as it aims to improve the outcomes of education and the subsequent excellence in
the fields of scientific research and community service, which is the basis of the work entrusted to
the faculty members. The administration began to work out a training plan and coordinate the
establishment of training programs in many areas that were previously identified and to attract
programs and trainers from different university colleges that serve the faculty members, whether
in the field of teaching and learning, scientific research, quality and requirements thereof, or
community service, in addition to many general programs such as academic leadership, academic
advising, E-learning and other enrichment and development programs for a faculty member. The
university was interested in developing the skills of faculty members, and therefore the
management of skills development of faculty members, the main objective of the administration
and organizational chart are presented in (Annex S1-1-3-1). The management of skills
development of faculty members is published in website https://bu.edu.sa/web/administration-
of-faculty-members-skills.
The training plan and faculty member’s registration in available workshops training is published by
https://bu.edu.sa/ar/web/guest/all-e-services. Workshops and courses attended by faculty
members in the Mechanical engineering program (Annex S1-1-3-2). The courses of the faculty
members in the Mechanical engineering program are listed (Annex S1-1-3-3). It is also possible to
measure the extent of faculty members’ satisfaction with the research facilities through a
questionnaire about the beneficiaries’ satisfaction with the research facilities and equipment
(Annex S1-1-3-4), technical services in (Annex S1-1-3-5) and learning resources (Annex S1-1-3-6).
The average results of the questionnaire for research facilities and equipment is (2.85/5), a
technical service is (3.79/5), and learning resources is (3.48/5).The handbook of Mechanical
engineering includes all information about the program such as mission, objectives, equipment,
