/college, and guide all its operations and activities.
Since the establishment of the Mechanical Engineering Department in 1426 H to award a
Bachelor’s degree, the educational and operational goals of the Mechanical Engineering Program
are clearly aligned with the mission and vision of the college and university. The mission and goals
on the Mechanical Engineering Program is published in website,
(https://bu.edu.sa/en/web/faculty-of-engineering/department-of-mechanical-engineering). The
program mission and goals are presented and approved in Mechanical Engineering Department
council (Department council No. (7), Academic Year 2023/2024) (Annex S1-1-1-1).The mission,
vision, and goals of a Mechanical engineering program are evaluated by questionnaire for
Mechanical Engineering Program faculty members (Annex S1-1-1-2), and questionnaire for
Mechanical engineering program students (Annex S1-1-1-3). Sixteen faculty members and
seventeen students responded to a questionnaire the mission, vision and goals of the Mechanical
Engineering Program. The average results of the questionnaire for faculty members is 4.1 on a 5-
point scale and the questionnaire for students is 3.83 on a 5-point scale, a satisfaction rate of
more than 76%.
The mission and goals can also be followed up to the Mechanical Engineering Program through the
advisory committee of the Faculty of engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology
was also held (Annex S1-1-1-4). The vision and mission of the college of engineering programs and
the characteristics of the graduates was discussed, then reaching many of the recommendations
mentioned in the attached file in the meeting committee.
The mission and goals are monitored for achievement using Program Learning Outcomes
Assessment (PLOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) results. The educational of learning
domains and definitions of the PLOs, it is clear that the PLOs are fully consistence with the
National Qualification Framework (NQF) requirements include the report of PLOs (PLOs report
(Annex S1-1-1-5), and pages 7and 8 in KPIs report (Annex S1-1-1-6)). The feedback from
stakeholders is evaluated by questionnaire of the stakeholders (Annex S1-1-1-7), and it’s
presented in KPIs Program Code KPI-P-9 in KPIs report in page 22. The final result of the survey of
employers for a Mechanical Engineering Program is 3.94 on a 5-point scale.
