Executive Summary:

The department of mechanical Engineering at Al-Baha University established its bachelor of

mechanical engineering program in 1427 AH, (Annex 1-1-1-1). This program was designed to equip
students with a wide range of skills and knowledge, encompassing problem analysis and

resolution, mechanical and thermal design, simulation of practical issues, and the ability to design

systems essential for the mechanical engineering job market. Graduates are well-prepared to work
across various mechanical engineering domains, such as power generation, refrigeration, air

conditioning, internal combustion engines, manufacturing processes, tools design and production

engineering. Moreover, the program places a strong emphasis on continuously updating

knowledge through the utilization of modern techniques and advanced engineering tools relevant
to the field of mechanical engineering. Since its inception, the program has consistently evolved,

refining its performance through the development of academic plans. This evolutionary process

unfolded as follows: 1427 academic plan (Annex 1-1-1-2), 1430 academic plan (Annex 1-1-1-3)

1433 academic plan (Annex 1-1-1-4), 1438 academic plan (Annex 1-1-1-5), and most recently, in
1445 academic plan (Annex 1-1-1-6). As a result of these improvements, the program now

produces highly skilled mechanical engineers who are well-equipped to meet the demands of the

Saudi job market. This report offers a comprehensive self-study assessment of the bachelor of

mechanical engineering program (MENG) within the mechanical engineering department, faculty
of engineering, Al-Baha University. The self-study process adheres to the standards set by the

National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) and follows its accreditation

            models.
