Human Female Reproductive System:
It consists of ovaries, oviduct, uterus, and vagina
• Ovaries: have two main reproductive functions in the
body. They produce oocytes (eggs) for fertilization and
they produce the reproductive hormones, oestrogen and
progesterone.
• Uterus: where the embryo develops until birth time
• Female hormones: progesterone and estrogen are
produced from the ovary.
• Fertilization: the process of a
sperm joining with an egg to form
a zygote, it occurs in the upper
portion of an oviduct.
• Early development: egg, zygote, morula, blastocyst that
is made on the fifth day after fertilization
