SAAT BIOLOGY MR.MOHAMED ELGAYAR MRPROF.NET
• When food or moisture becomes limited, the slime mold
develops spore-producing structures, called sporangia.
Spores are produced through meiosis and dispersed by
wind.
• Water molds were considered fungi because of their
method of obtaining nutrients. Water molds envelop their
food source with a mass of threads. Then they break
down the tissue and absorb the nutrients through their
cell walls.
• All sporozoans are parasitic. They infect organisms by
living as internal parasites.
• Fungi
Rhizoids are a type of hyphae found in molds of the phylum
Zygomycota. Flagellated spores are characteristic of the
phylum Chytridiomycota. Fruiting bodies are the sexually
reproducing structure of the phylum Basidiomycota.
