CONGRATS!
OREGON WINE EXPERIENCE 2019
Record-Breaking Attendance and
Fundraising Milestones
people attended the premier wine and culinary
5,123 destination event in Jacksonville, generously helping
raise nearly $1.7 million for Asante Children’s Miracle Network and
other health care programs supported by Asante Foundation. (100%
of monies raised go to these programs.) This is the third consecutive
year that the Oregon Wine Experience surpassed the $1 million
fundraising mark.
Miracle Auction attendees gathered under the big tent at Bigham
Knoll to enjoy the Coquille Indian Tribe’s traditional salmon bake. At
the Founders’ Barrel Auction, guests sampled exclusive wine thieved
straight from the barrel.
Six experienced judges individually scored 325 wines. This year’s panel
included two master sommeliers, two masters of wine, a wine educa-
tor, and a wine publication editor. Three Oregon wines earned Best
of Show medals: Specialty, Maison Jussiaume 2016 Blanc de Blancs
(Rogue Valley); White, Trium Wines 2018 Viognier (Rogue Valley);
Red, Valcan Cellars 2015 Syrah (Willamette Valley). In addition, 26
wineries merited a Double Gold, 36 took Gold and 73 received Silver.
These award-winning wines represent 13 of Oregon’s 15 American
Viticultural Areas (AVAs). 85 Oregon wineries received accolades.
“This event continues to grow year-over-year, attracting people from
all around the world,” says Floyd Harmon, Executive Director, Asante
Foundation.
