have opened an urban winery and tasting room in Talent. The new cor-
rugated metal building at 717 South Pacific Highway is filled with light
and has a clean, informal, industrial vibe. The tasting room offers a
build your own picnic menu, is family friendly and dogs are welcome
on the patio. Simple Machine wines are meant to reflect an honest
expression of starting with great fruit and gently shepherding it into
great wine. It is hands-on, old-fashioned wine making the way it’s been
done for thousands of years. Only native yeasts are used, the reds are
foot stomped and 100 percent whole cluster fermented. Production is
intentionally kept small at 400 to 500 cases a year.
