LOCAL ARTIST GABRIEL LIPPER
HONORED AT THE NATIONAL
SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS IN NYC
Gabriel Lipper was in Manhattan on January 11 at the National
Society of Illustrators where one of his pieces was on display and to
be included in the society’s 61st-anniversary publication. The Society
of Illustrators’ premier showcase for illustrators (open worldwide)
featured the most outstanding works created throughout the year. A
jury of professionals that includes renowned illustrators, art directors
and designers considered thousands of entries.
Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators is the oldest nonprofit
organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America. Notable
Society members include N.C. Wyeth, Shel Silverstein, and Norman
Rockwell, among many others.
Gabriel Lipper is being honored for his work with the National Labor
Federation calendar. The calendar, produced entirely through volun-
teer effort, depicts the work of community-based, free and volun-
tary associations such as Northwest Seasonal Workers Association in Private Tastings
Medford. Lipper created an illustration for each calendar month, the Private Events
center poster, plus the calendar cover over the last 15 years. Lipper’s
2018 calendar illustration hung at the Society of Illustrators Museum
of Illustration in New York City January 9 – February 2. Visit our website for public and special events

2018’s best artist. Gabriel will also be the featured artist on the PBS rogue valley • or | 541.690.8303
program Oregon Art Beat this February. Gabriel works and teaches
in Ashland at Enclave Studios. He is also represented by Hanson fenceswinery.com
