What a Christian Believes

produce material benefits, from God to the believer. This is

not so! These benefits may be a product of Faith but are
not the purpose.
The purpose of Faith is to produce good deeds, like
those Jesus performed on earth, from an obedient life,
free from evil and selfishness.

James 2 v20 'You foolish man, do you want evidence that
faith without deeds is useless' and v26 'As the body
without the Spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.'

The power of Faith. It is important to understand that
FAITH alone has little value. It is not like a lucky charm, that
once you have it, all will be well.

It is FAITH that links the christian to the GOD of all power.
Hebrews 11 v3 'By faith we understand that the Universe
was formed at God's command.'

The power that is released by FAITH comes not from
something worked up from within or even from GOD'S
promises in his Word. It is Faith in God Himself, Father,
Son and Holy Spirit, that releases the power.

It is believing in a someone not a something that is the key.

The someone (GOD) will release power to do the something
(answer prayer, heal the sick, perform miracles) where
there is a pure FAITH in HIM by a believer.

But even more than that John 14 v 12,13,14 'I tell you the
truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have
been doing. He will do even greater things than these,
because I go to the Father. And I will do whatever you
ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the
