Faith in or towards God
Father. You may ask anything in my name, and I will do
it.'
Does this mean we can ask for anything that pleases us, a
new car, new washing machine, first prize in the lottery?
The key to asking, is understanding that for which we are
supposed to ask. John 15 v16 ' You did not choose me
(Jesus) but I chose you, and appointed you to go and
bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give
you whatever you ask in my name.'
The purpose of FAITH, that has power to ask God and get
what has been asked for, is to produce fruit.
WHAT FRUIT? To do the same works that Jesus did, and
even greater ones.
WHY? So that through us, the Son (Jesus) may bring Glory
to the Father.
So if a believer can - with a clear and good conscience -
truly say that winning the lottery or having a new car is, first
and foremost, for bearing fruit for Jesus and to glorify the
Father - and they have Faith that God WILL do it, then HE
will.
And there are those that testify that this has been their
experience. BECAUSE GOD LOVES TO BLESS HIS
CHILDREN.
But if the main reason is to have more personal security and
possessions, then the asking will not contain a faith that is
linked to a good conscience.
A strong faith in a wrong objective achieves very little.
