2000 years we have been caught in this suppression, so
many years that we are finding it difficult to move out
from under the confines this imposes on us. We no longer
know what else there is. We no longer know where to go.
We look to other cultures and religious practices to guide
us, but they too over time have been sullied by their
misuse. We no longer know how to refer to ourselves.
When we are asked what religion we are we search
through known religions to try and identify who we are.
Spirituality is not a religion nor is any religion spiritual.
We can continue to practice a religion but applying the
spiritual understandings that life has given us or we can
choose to practice our religion and ignore our feelings of
emptiness and un-fulfilment.
How do we know what is right or wrong? We
always know but often seek to justify wrong by
deferring to the instructions of others; a soldier excusing
the killing of another with the excuse that they were
acting under orders, an executioner killing a convict with
