sessions in association with counselling presents the ideal conditions
for completing the healing of these traumas.
Another common cause of discomfort in adulthood can be an
external controlling influence we experience. Often this control
emerges from one or both parents. We must realise that this does not
necessarily mean that our parents or parent are being unkind or
unloving. Indeed sometimes it can be the over-indulgence of love that
creates the unhealthy condition. The parent may be unknown to us due
to their departure from the home through death or some such reason. It
is the power that we give to the image of the parent that we then allow
to control us. The expression, “tied to a mother’s apron strings” takes
on a new meaning. It is not necessarily the mother who has tied us,
but usually ourselves. This power loss can be very debilitating in a
hidden way and does restore, though slowly, through Spiritual
Healing.
This is but an outline to the causes of common illnesses as I
see them. Each situation needs careful understanding and the
realisations that the manifestation of a particular illness is particular to
that individual, and must not be likened to anything else that has
previously been experienced by the healer. Again this is an error often
found in medical diagnosis, trying to label and group different
illnesses, by minimising the concepts of cause and arriving at a
minimum number of labels. Illness is specific, since each individual is
specific. Illness is for a specific reason and is thus unique, and must be
dealt with as such.
