involvement with illness.
We can sometimes feel that it would be easier for us to cope
with the illness than for the patient to continue their struggle.
Remember it is the patients' own struggle to reach an understanding of
their own plight and cause for the disharmony that exists within them.
You cannot do any of this for them except to help them, by being
there with them in support, through the ordeal they are undergoing.
Spiritual healing must be allowed to work for the recipient and
spiritual healing is more effective than you. You are only the
instrument.
In the case of the mind, here also we can experience
weakness. In fact it is usually here that the weakness exists and it is
where the channel most commonly becomes corrupt. We have
discussed ego and the need to know why we have the compulsion to
be a healer. We should fully understand our motivation. If we have
doubts that we have any ulterior motive for being a spiritual healer
then we should clarify that situation before we attempt healing. We
see here the most dangerous situation confronting any healer. You
have been told of the perils that await the unwary.
Doubts abound and you must be aware of these also. These
doubts need to be tested by you time and time again until they cease to
exist, if that can ever be whilst in this incarnation. There must be
complete acceptance that when all is well. Only then, anyone can be a
channel for spiritual healing. When you do over-come your doubts, all
fear will be gone and the security of confidence will remain.
You must not allow yourself to be more involved in the
healing act then to permit the channel to be effective. We can see the
validity of this situation if we again look to the world that surrounds
us and see how those in the medical profession react to illness when
they themselves are less then par.
If a doctor is not in the fullness of his health, - and even if he
