pitfall that one will encounter in the first instance. Now it is not a bad
thing to entertain a modicum of ego, for that is what this pride may be
called, but it is almost impossible to measure the degree of ego that is
being entertained. There is no short way that ego can be controlled
other than to be in constant watch for this insidious emotion to
manifest. The most important action is to be aware.
Again let us look at the ego. The go is sneaky in that it
approaches under the heading of being of service to others, in other
words in doing good you become a do gooder". A "do gooder" is one
who does good but knows it and thereby lays a condition that the act
must be also recognised by others. Therefore the work ceases when
the recognition ceases. This is indeed the folly that persists with those
who suffer from ego, they are only available if there is a cause that
will make them appear great in the minds of others. Be aware that ego
does not recognise any barriers except those that seek to confine it's
own egotistical development. Then it approaches the obstacle taking
what it can for it's own glory and when that is to be no more, escapes
before the real work is just about to begin leaving the cause
shorthanded and in a state where failure is inevitable, since all the
good has already been removed so as to feed the ego, and when the
failure takes place the egotist crows that it couldn't survive without
them. If the cause still survives in spite of the egotist then the cause is
now wrong, that is to say in the words of the egotist, "something must
be wrong as it was doomed when I left." And so it goes on and on. We
must constantly check where we are in relation to our ego, there must
be no let up in the constant vigil for ego such is this insidious emotion.
The medals that are to be won are all in this world (the Spirit World),
not in yours. Your world is a place of work, that is why you chose it.
You are there for experience not glory. Glory is for God, Humility is
for you.
So now you see that the most important observation to make
