Page 140 - Spirit - A Journey Through Embodiment
P. 140
At this stage in this life journey the tendency is only to look at
transient life, the life of the body, which we know to be mortal
and terminal. We fail to recognise the importance of eternal
life, the life of the Spirit. Yet again we measure our successes
by material wealth and not by true happiness. True happiness
is provided by God to let us know that where we are is the
right place to be. We often think that we are in that place
when we think that materially we have all that we need, but
then that is the ‘fools paradise’ that we hear of. When we are
in a state of true happiness we are more open to helping
others, also in an honest way, to bring them into the
experience of God and happiness. We do not serve them.
Service is often a control mechanism and often carried out due
to conscience and not love. We can provide the means to
allow the needy the hope of helping themselves and for them
to get the sense of strength they have to tackle any situation
they encounter in their lives. This also applies to how the
parent or career of a child can make a big difference in a
child's life and not just mould them into another image of
themselves, and to societies likening, a subservient being with
a suppressed Spirit. The child's Spirit has been sold to society
and into slavery.
