the high-pressure fuel
system
Use bleed valve on low-
pressure fuel system (if
present) to depressurize

Use two wrenches to
disconnect the fitting of
the component to be
serviced
Safety Practices for Welding and Follow WM hot work
Hot Work procedures
Hot work permits are
required outside of
designated hot work areas
Ensure hot work area (within
35 feet) is clear of flammable
and combustible materials
Use welding blankets or
shields to protect CNG fuel
system components
Check the fuel system for
leaks with a gas detector
Defuel or remove fuel system
components if necessary
A fire watch may be
necessary while conducting
hot work
Sparks and hot work debris
can travel beyond your
viewpoint
Always maintain an active
fire watch for a minimum of
30 minutes
Inspect the fuel system for
heat damage
