RESOLUTION BY THE PUBLIC WORKS & CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AND
STORM & WASTEWATER COMMITTEE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH

R.A. SMITH FOR THE PREPARATION OF DESIGN AND PUBLIC BIDDING
DOCUMENTS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE EMERGENCY
GENERATOR AT VILLAGE HALL

WHEREAS, the emergency natural gas generator at Village Hall is over
fifty years old and has failed; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative that the Municipal Building is equipped with an
emergency generator for public safety purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Village is satisfied with the quote from R.A. Smith for
preliminary design work and preparation of public bidding documents for
replacement of the emergency generator; and

WHEREAS, at this time the Village would like to proceed with certain
design and engineering work in order to proceed with obtaining bids for the
emergency generator.

NOW THEREFORE, the Village Board of the Village of Sturtevant, Racine
County, Wisconsin does hereby resolve:

1. That R.A. Smith National is authorized to proceed with
preliminary design and public bidding documents for a
replacement of an emergency generator at Village Hall at cost
not to exceed $20,000.

2. That the funds for said work shall be taken from Fund 101, Fund
Balance.

3. That the bids may be solicited, but contracts shall not be
awarded without further authorization by the Village Board.

Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Sturtevant, Racine County,
Wisconsin, this 6th day of February, 2018.
