CONClUsION

As a country, our combined overreaction and panic-
filled responses to the virus on social media has now
given our local, state and federal elected officials
our implied consent to violate our Constitutional
and First Amendment right to “peaceably assemble”
anytime that they choose to do. You were told that
you couldn’t go to church “for your safety.” You might
have been told that you couldn’t go to work “for
your safety,” and your personal liberty was certainly
imposed upon by your state or local government “for
your safety.” And although one of the most notable
Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin once famously
warned us to never be willing to give up our personal
liberty in exchange for “a little temporary safety” we
did just that with the lack of caution and common
sense that is typical of mob rule.
