W&RSETA CEO listens to stakeholders































        he Chief Executive Officer of the W&RSETA, Tom Mkhwanazi
     Tembarked on his annual stakeholder engagement programme
     for 2022/23  in Mpumalanga on 11  May 2022.  This will see
     him visit and engage with stakeholders from across all the nine
     provinces by 31 March 2023. The stakeholder programme has
     been a key activity in Mkhwanazi’s calendar since he took to the
     helm at the W&RSETA in 2019. Furthermore, the programme is an
     excellent opportunity to engage meaningfully on the challenges
     that stakeholders encounter in the implementation of skills
     development initiatives. The engagements also create a platform
     to explore innovative solutions to some of these challenges.
     The programme includes visits to companies and other partners
     during which Mkhwanazi also interacts with beneficiaries of the
     W&RSETA’s programmes.

     The two-day Mpumalanga visit started in eMalahleni with senior   Tom Mkhwanazi with Eastvaal Motors officials
     officials of Eastvaal Motors. The company shared its contribution
     to skills development through the implementation of learnerships
     and artisan programmes to create employment  opportunities
     for young people and develop its employees. Eastvaal Motors is
     a key contributor to the W&RSETA’s artisan programmes in the
     province. A key outcome  of the meeting  was Eastvaal Motors’
     commitment to participate in the W&RSETA’s programmes that
     address transformation which it has also prioritised.















                                                                   A stakeholder engagement session in Mbombela

                                                              Still in Mpumalanga, Mkhwanazi hosted a session with stakeholder
                                                              companies, the provincial Department of Education and training
           Unemployed artisan learner, Musa Shabangu          providers in Mbombela. Robust discussions  focused on how
         completed his level 3 artisan programme and will     stakeholders can contribute to the W&RSETA’s strategic priorities
              soon commence with training for level 4         focusing on the unique needs of the rural province of Mpumalanga.
