W&RSETA’s contribution to the national skills development
agenda in 2022/23
he W&RSETA has set 28 targets on skills development priorities aligned to the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) which are
Tpart of 34 targets that the W&RSETA has committed to achieve in the 2022/23 financial year. These targets are derived from the
eight outcomes of the NSDP and the W&RSETA aims to implement programmes in the Wholesale and Retail Sector to contribute towards
the goals of the NSDP as follows:

Award bursaries as follows:
• Management development programmes:
o 60 ILDP
o 320 RMDP
o 15 Masters/PhD
1. Identify and increase production of occupations • Undergraduate programmes on scarce and critical skills:

• 500 learners enrolled on artisan and technician programmes
• 50 unemployed learners enrolled on candidacy programmes
• Place 2400 learners from TVET colleges and HETs in Work
Integrated Learning (WIL) programmes
2. Linking education and the workplace
• 850 learners from TVET and HETs completing WIL
programmes
