Celebrating education and training at
Matus Graduation
A beaming Robin Coen who is the Managing Director at Matus,
said the graduation was in honour of those who have taken time
to improve themselves and that the company would continue to
provide such opportunities to young people which it considers a
duty toward addressing unemployment in South Africa.
He encouraged the graduates to share their learnings with
others in the business and encourage them to also develop
themselves through education. Coen thanked and acknowledged
the W&RSETA for its role in facilitating skills development in the
Wholesale and Retail Sector.
Celebrating success.
he W&RSETA joined large hardware wholesaler, Matus on 13
TOctober 2021 to celebrate the achievements of young people
from the 2019/20 PIVOTAL programmes during a graduation
ceremony.
All 40 learners who were enrolled on FET certificates in marketing
and merchandising as well as learnerships in generic management
and wholesale & retail operations successfully completed their
programmes. Commendably, 95% of the learners have been
permanently employed and placed in the various departments
within Matus in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.
Jephrey Nene delivered a message of support.
The W&RSETA Provincial Manager for Gauteng South Jephrey
Nene delivered a message of support and congratulated the
graduates. He commended the company for a 100% success
rate and completing the project on time. Nene encouraged the
graduates to continue on the lifelong journey of learning and
to take advantage of the opportunities provided through the
W&RSETA.
