Source: Many oils as citrus fruits rind oils
Present as d-liomnene or l-limonene or dl mixture (dipentene)
Uses: - In cosmetics, perfumary and food manufacturing.
- Flavouring and masking agent in medicines.
- It dissolves gall bladder stones (Rowachol)
- Helpful in the treatment of hyperchlesterolemia
- Botanical Insecticide (d-liomnene is more active than l-limonene).
- Moisture and Air cause changes in the composition of some oils on storage.
Terpinolene (∆ 1,4(8) -p-menthadiene)
Source: Coriander, cardomom, Marjoram and orange oils
Uses: Scenting (perfumes), cosmetics, food Industries.
